In this simulation, you will take on the role of Belinda Russell in order to learn how to complete a tax return using the Married Filing Separately filing status.

You are married to Jesse Russell. You are both U.S. citizens and you live in the United States. You have no children. Because of financial problems caused by your first husband, you refuse to file a joint return with anyone, including Jesse. You will file your own tax return and claim an exemption for yourself. Jesse will file his own tax return and claim an exemption for himself.

You are a dietician at a retirement home. You have interest income from your savings account.
