Roth IRA

Question:   Do I report my nondeductible Roth IRA contributions on Form 8606?

Answer:   Do not use Form 8606 (PDF), Nondeductible IRAs, to report nondeductible Roth IRA contributions.

However, you should use Form 8606 to report amounts that you:

  • Converted from a traditional IRA, a SEP, or Simple IRA to a Roth IRA, or
  • Rolled over from a qualified retirement plan to a Roth IRA (other than rollovers from a designated Roth account).

Additional Information:

Category: Individual Retirement Arrangements (IRAs)

Subcategory: Roth IRA
