Schedule DForm 1040, Schedule D, Capital Gains and Losses, was revised to allow for changes made to Form 1099-B and the new Form 8949. Individual transactions will no longer be listed on Schedule D. Part I and Part II of the revised Schedule D separates the three types of transactions carried over from Form 8949 to Schedule D. Form 8949 replaces Schedule D-1.
Form 1098-MAForm 1098-MA, Mortgage Assistance Payments, is a new information return. The form is used to report to the IRS and homeowners the total amounts of certain mortgage assistance payments made to mortgage servicers. Although, mortgage assistance payments are not included in income, taxpayers cannot deduct interest that is paid for them. |
